Removing Garbage By Water Removing Garbage By Land

This event allows volunteers the opportunity to remove trash from the river or along its adjacent trails--paddlers, rowers, power boaters, walkers, hikers, bicyclers, mountain bikers, birders, etc are all welcome!

Join our riverfront celebration at 6PM

This year we are going all out with a big celebration at the Simon Estes Amphitheater where live entertainment and food will be provided FREE for volunteers. Music provided by Community Jazz Center Big Band. Door prizes will be given away. (see map)

Want to participate on the river but don't have a canoe?

(still confirming)

Polk County Conservation and Des Moines Parks & Recreation are offering canoes for this event, but you are required to attend a moving water canoe class to be eligible to borrow one.

For more information about borrowing a canoe, call John at 515-274-5660.
